What is trans-resveratrol?
trans-Resveratrol is a naturally occurring polyphenol found in the skin of red wine grapes. It is produced in plants in response to stress, injury, fungal infection or UV radiation. In addition to powerful antioxidant properties, resveratrol is believed to impart many health benefits through the activation of an enzyme, SIRT1, which usually degrades with aging. Resveratrol occurs in two forms, trans and cis. The trans form is the most bioavailable, meaning a larger amount of it is absorbed and can be used by your body.
